Waldorf education

"Receive the children in reverence, educate them in love and send them forth in freedom" Rudolf Steiner

After reading Axness´book I was really courious about this "Waldorf education"  mentioned several times in there.

Rudolf Steiner (1861- 1925)

Steiner´s ideas and work are the ground of the Waldorf education but his theories were never mentioned under the years I was studing at the university, so I borrowed the only two and quite old actually, books available at the local library and started there.

I´ll use this space to collect the main ideas in those books and try to understand and maybe "see" what Waldorf is about.

In the meanwhile I found an amazing description about Waldorf education here:

Global Mama blogg shows some quick facts about Waldorf schools:

Quick Facts: - Strong emphasis on imagination, art, and crafts of all kinds - Great care is taken to create a soothing, home-like atmosphere in the classroom - Reverence for nature and celebration of the seasons is central to Waldorf education - Formal lessons in reading and writing are not given in the early childhood years
